PPI decreased 0.5% QoQ in January 2016 and 5.3% YoY

According to the latest data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, in January 2016, the national producer price of industrial producers (PPI) fell by 0.5% month-on-month, a decrease of 5.3% year-on-year.

In January, the ex-factory prices of industrial producers fell by 0.5% month-on-month, and the decline slowed by 0.1% from the previous month. The slight decrease in the chain ratio was due to the fact that the ex-factory prices in some industrial sectors decreased or decreased. Among them, the ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing, non-ferrous metal mining prices from the previous month's decline to this month's rise of 0.1%, 0.6%; non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing prices from the previous month's decline to the month The prices of chemical raw materials and chemical products fell by 0.7% month-on-month, 0.2 percentage points lower than the previous month's drop.

In January, the ex-factory prices of industrial producers fell by 5.3% year-on-year, a decrease of 0.6% from the previous month. The year-on-year decline was mainly due to the lower base of comparison in the same period of last year (down 1.1% in January last year). In terms of different industries, the ex-factory prices of ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing, petroleum processing, non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing, and chemical raw materials and chemical products are still down by more than the same period last year, falling by 19.0%, 13.5%, 12.1%, and 6.3%, respectively. The total level of ex-factory prices of industrial producers in the month fell by 2.8 percentage points year-on-year, accounting for about 53% of the total decline.
