South Korea successfully develops new materials for high-performance fuel cells

According to a joint report by the Korea Institute of Atomic Energy (KAERI) and the Korea Energy Technology Research Institute (KIER) on May 25th, through joint research, we have successfully developed new materials that can improve the energy efficiency of fuel cells.

There are two kinds of development results: one is “carbon thin film silver nano powder catalyst” which can make solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) operate at low temperature; the other is not only can greatly reduce methanol fuel cell (DMFC). The "radiation-illuminated polymer fuel electronic film" that is bulky and energy-efficient.

According to reports, carbon film silver nano-powder can replace the catalyst made of rare metal, so that SOFC can achieve 400-/- ** efficiency at 650 ° C; radiation irradiation of polymer fuel electrons has filtered methanol and only The characteristics of permeation of hydrogen ions enable the production of small-volume, high-efficiency DMFC cells.
