The report written by Li Junfeng, secretary general of CREIA and deputy director of the Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission, pointed out that in recent years, China's photovoltaic industry has risen rapidly, but most of its products are exported to foreign markets.

In order to achieve sustainable energy and environmental development, Germany, Spain, Japan and other countries have encouraged the development of renewable energy including solar photovoltaic. The rapidly growing international market has driven the development of China's photovoltaic industry. Due to the low production cost, China has become a production base for foreign solar photovoltaic industry. Some people joked that Suntech and other solar power companies are actually "failing foreign wealth."
