Method of clamping a small drill bit

When the drill shank diameter is small and the drill chuck cannot be directly clamped, the following method can be taken. Drill a small hole in the center of the bar on the lathe according to the diameter of the shank, and then the outer circle (the outer diameter should be larger than the smallest diameter that the drill chuck can clamp). Next, a cross recess is cut out from the end surface to form a transition jacket. Before drilling the hole, insert the bit handle into the hole of the transition jacket and clamp it to the drill (Figure 1).
