In the first half of this year, the completion of shipbuilding in China has declined.

From January to June 2013, the national shipbuilding completion volume was 20.6 million DWT, down 36.0% year-on-year, of which the sea-going ship was revised to 6.68 million tons; the newly-accepted ship order volume was 22.9 million DWT, an increase of 113.2% over the same period of last year. 8.92 million revised gross tons. As of the end of June, the order volume of hand-held ships was 108.98 million DWT, down 13.4% year-on-year. Compared with the end of 2012, the number of hand-held orders increased by 1.9%, of which sea-going ships were 38.1 million revised gross tons, and export ships accounted for 87.3% of the total. From January to June, China's shipbuilding completion volume, new orders, and hand-held orders accounted for 35.3%, 46.1%, and 44.3% of the world market share, respectively, ranking first in the world.
