On January 27th, “a heavy metal adsorption composite membrane and its preparation method” completed by researchers from the Environmental Science and Technology Research Institute of the Xinjiang Institute of Physics and Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences obtained the national invention patent authorization (patent number: ZL 201410068134.7).

The development of functional polymer membrane materials that can be used for the treatment of heavy metals in water bodies has received extensive attention from researchers.

The invention discloses a heavy metal adsorption composite film and a preparation method thereof. The composite film is composed of two base films and a core film and has a "sandwich structure". The base film has a mass transfer function and a certain adsorption function. The core membrane is the core unit for adsorption and contains a large number of heavy metal adsorption functional groups. The composite membrane can swell but not dissolve in water, and can be suspended in water and adsorb heavy metal ions in the water. The composite membrane has large adsorption capacity for heavy metal ions such as Pb2+, Hg2+, Cd2+, and Cu2+ ions in water, and has high removal efficiency. Desorption regeneration after desorption can be achieved. The regeneration performance is good and can be reused.
